6 Ways God has Equipped You as a Christian Writer

Golden Bible with cross design

God has called you to write. But you wonder if you've got what it takes. You ask: has he equipped me for the journey? Has he given me the tools to handle writing for him?

The Bible shows several reasons why you should write for the Lord, and how he has given you all it takes to be a Christian writer.

1 Corinthians shows us six.

When you believe in Jesus and confess him as Lord, these things become yours:

Christian Writers are Members of the Body of Christ

“Now here is what I'm trying to say: All of you together are the one body of Christ, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.”
1 Corinthians 12:27 (TLB)

You're part of God’s family. And your role in it is important.

What does that mean?

That you have a support network. You can get all the information and encouragement you need from him, other Christians and fellow writers.

Christian Writers have the Spirit of God

“And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) so that we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”
1 Corinthians 2:12 (NLT)

“You realize, don't you, that you're the temple of God, and God himself is present in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16 (MSG)

You have the Spirit of God. Not only that. He lives inside you.

Think about it. The Lord - the creator of the universe, the all-powerful one, lives in you.

If he's in you, you've got everything you need. Because he'll guide you. He'll let you know what steps to take. He'll make all the resources you need to be a comfortable writer available to you.

Christian Writers have the Mind of Christ

“...But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 2:16b (NLT)

The Lord didn't stop at living inside you. He gave you his mind too.

Now, you can understand his plans for The Church and write about it. You can perceive things the way he does. And judge like him.

You can stay in Connecticut and write an article that will be the exact message a family in Australia needs.

Christian Writers are Called Into Fellowship with Jesus

"God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of His Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”
1 Corinthians 1:9 (MSB)

Okay. Maybe spirit, mind and a body of Christ that seems figurative, is difficult to grasp. How about looking at it this way?

As a believer, you've been called into fellowship with him. Your calling to write for Him makes you Christ’s partner. You're now his friend. And you're a joint participator in God's plans for your world.

When he wants to admonish people, he tells you to write it. When he's got something to say, He does it through you.

How wonderful is that?

It's like being in a firm where you and Christ are partners.

You've got nothing to fear. Because you can bet the Lord will guide you to get things done successfully.

Christian Writers Have Wisdom:

“But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom from God…”
 1 Corinthians 1:30 (Amp)

Jesus Christ was made wisdom for you. Since you've got him, you’ve got wisdom.

You don't have to worry about the future of your writing career. Jesus will tell you what to do if you ask them.

He’ll lead you. He'll help you make decisions that will take you much further than you'll normally go.

When you apply his wisdom, your writing will be superb.

Christian Writers have all God's Gifts

Just think--you don't need a thing, you've got it all! All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale.”
1 Corinthians 1:7 (MSG)

The Lord has given you all the gifts you need. You can write that romance novel you've always wanted to. You can break into that genre no matter how difficult.

You can start that blog. Sell that book. Get his message to be read by thousands of people.

He's given you that ability and more.

With him, you have a total package of everything you need to be a best-selling Christian writer.

Any day you feel you don't know what to do next in your writing career, remember you've got God. And he's given you all that you require for the journey.

Ask him to show you the way. He will surely answer you.
